Watch! Equity by Design

A few weeks ago, I had the pleasure of contributing to a panel hosted by AARP on how to “Enable by Design” and “Drive Informed Demand"(for more equitable places), along with the venerable former Secretary of Housing and Urban Development, Henry Cisneros and powerful equity and design champion, Ifeoma Ebo (one of the co-founders of Black Space) We had an invigorating discussion around how design can and should be used to create more livable, equitable, and just places. We know many of you were unable to join us live…but good news, you can now watch at your pleasure and delight, anytime you want! Highlights of our discussion included:

  • Smart vs. Thoughtful Cities

  • The need for a paradigm shift in community engagement

  • The exponential value of data in facilitating more inclusive, equitable, and just processes and design outputs

  • The role of the housing market and developers in creating more equitable places

  • The need to boldly tackle spatial injustice and structural inequity

Check it out today!
